Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)

The NEC Main Line and the Harrisburg Line (one of the NEC’s three Connecting Corridors) play a critical role in the SEPTA Regional Rail system. Four SEPTA Regional Rail services use the NEC Main Line (the Wilmington/Newark, Airport, Trenton, and Chestnut Hill West lines) and two services use the Harrisburg Line (the Paoli/Thorndale and Cynwyd lines). Under agreement with the state of Delaware, SEPTA provides services along the NEC Main Line between Wilmington (DE), Newark (DE), and Philadelphia. About one-half of all SEPTA trains use the NEC Main Line or the Harrisburg Line for a portion or all of their trip.
